Beds of Hope

A partnership between the Rotary Club of Tierra Verde and Ashley Furniture to benefit Suncoast Voices for Children is making such a meaningful impact across Pinellas and Pasco counties. Through the effort, 600 beds generously donated by Ashley Furniture were recently delivered to help furnish safe, welcoming homes for children in foster and kinship care.

At the center of the work is Suncoast’s flagship Children's Needs Program, which ensures essential items reach abused, neglected and abandoned youth as they move through care and transition.

Rotary volunteers and local advocates gathered on June 11th to coordinate inventory, transportation and assembly so families receive support quickly and smoothly.

For those who want to volunteer, support is still needed for warehouse work, deliveries and setup.

Nancy Safford Westfall, Rotary's incoming president, shared that the club has a great itinerary of upcoming events and invites anyone interested to attend a meeting.

"You do not have to live in Tierra Verde to be a member of this awesome group," she offers. "Our members are from all over the area."

Sometimes the most basic gestures carry the most lasting weight, and a bed can mean comfort, dignity and the sense that a new beginning is possible.
