Miller oversaw an around-the-clock effort as submerged land was filled, foundations poured and walls raised. In just 10 months, he fulfilled his promise to Laughner to open by year’s end. On December 31st, 1925, the doors opened to a Mediterranean-inspired palace on our waterfront for winter guests and visiting dignitaries
