One thing is certain with this charismatic standup comedian, writer and actor—you will laugh. We spoke with her ahead of the headlining show at the Duke Center for the Arts—Mahaffey Theater on December 19th at 7pm. She treated us to a snippet of the Southern charm and humor that will fill the two-hour event.

What's your favorite Southern phrase?
Bless their heart. There’s so much behind it, but it’s Southerners attempting to still be polite.

What's something you find ridiculous about yourself or cracked you up that you did?
I always laugh at myself when it comes to parties. I do the same thing at every party. I go straight to the snacks and just hang out there for a long time until I’m pleasantly full—then the socializing begins.

What is the TV show you'd most like to have a cameo in?
I mean, White Lotus seems pretty fun. It’s always a cool cast and they film in the best locations.

What was the weirdest gift you ever received?
Our SiriusXM radio producer, Joe, always gives us holiday gifts with his face on them. So, I have a mug with his big smiley face on it. It’s weird to drink out of. It may have recently gotten lost in my move.

What is your favorite Florida man story?
When is there not a Florida man story? That’s why we love Florida. Plus, it’s the birthplace of Hooters.
