Celebrate John Prine’s Birthday

Date: October 9th and 10th

A documentary celebrating the life and music of John Prine returns to The Beach Theatre for four screenings during the beloved singer-songwriter’s birthday weekend. Prine had a longtime connection to the Tampa Bay area, living part-time in Gulfport and frequently visiting the theater with his wife, Fiona, making the return especially fitting for local fans.

St. Pete Pier Fall Festival

Date: October 10th and 11th
Time: 11am to 7pm
Location: St. Pete Pier, 800 2nd Ave. NE, St. Pete

Fall arrives on the waterfront with a family-friendly celebration featuring live music, food, bounce zones, a Kids Zone and the first-ever Kids Rave. Families can also explore a sprawling pumpkin patch with festive photo opportunities before taking on a round of fall-themed putt-putt on the pier.

Indigenous Peoples Day at the James Museum

Celebrate Indigenous Peoples’ Day with free admission and the chance to explore the museum’s collection and galleries. Timed tickets are required, with advance reservations recommended to ensure entry as space is limited.

‘Twas the Night Book Signing

Date: October 14th
Time: 5:30pm to 7pm
Location: Tombolo Books, 2153 1st Ave. S., St. Pete

St. Pete resident Kevin Johnson celebrates the release of his debut horror novel with a signing and meet-and-greet. The Christmas-themed thriller follows a skeptical reporter investigating a string of child disappearances in a Maine village where Santa Claus is worshipped as a god—and the holiday cheer comes with a sinister price.

SPCA Tampa Bay Calendar Photo Contest

Date: Now through November 2nd
Time: All day
Location: gogophotocontest.com/spcatampabay

Pet owners can put their four-legged friends in the spotlight while helping animals in need through SPCA Tampa Bay’s annual calendar fundraiser. The 11 pets receiving the most votes will earn a featured spot in the 2027 calendar, with each photo submission, vote and calendar purchase helping support animals in the organization’s care while they await new homes.
