Teachers Rock at Old McMicky’s Dream Wedding

Many careers can be hugely demanding.  But the job of schoolteacher is one career choice that takes a special kind of person – someone who gives their heart and soul to educating the next generation of adults who will be leading this state and this country.  Up before the sun, with long days on their feet, dedicated teachers are often selfless and giving, investing personal time and emotional support to young children and teens.

Old McMicky’s Farm, a children’s educational farm in the rolling countryside of Odessa, wants to reward a local schoolteacher with a free all-inclusive wedding at its beautiful lakefront venue. In the past four years,  Old McMicky’s has donated eight free weddings to active U.S. military and veterans as part of a community giving program called “Mission I Do.”  In 2018, the Farm will award a free dream wedding worth $20,000 to a schoolteacher in the Tampa Bay area through its “Teachers ROCK” giving program.

“Teachers make such a huge difference in the lives of children and families in our Tampa Bay community, we thought a great way for Old McMicky’s Farm to show our appreciation was to help a teacher start a family of their own with this Dream Wedding gift,” says Ralph Zuckerman, owner of Old McMicky’s Farm.

While nominations have closed, the public is now urged  to VOTE for the candidate couple of their choice on the farm’s web site at oldmcmickys.com.  Candidates were chosen from public and private schoolteachers in grades Pre-K through 12 in Pinellas, Hillsborough and Polk counties who entered the giveaway before the application deadline of January 5.

Old McMicky’s Farm offers educational group and individual farm tours, kid’s birthday parties, beautiful barn weddings and corporate event rentals as part of their services to the general public.
