January / February
Welcome to the first issue of the new year—an issue devoted to the many extraordinary women of our community, featuring our annual special advertising feature, Women in Business. We invite you to learn about these inspiring business leaders, meet local authors and the women influencing our local culture through their various pursuits, from literacy and a love of books to health, design and wine. In honor of Black History Month, we also highlight vital history with the Woodson African American Museum of Florida, recognize critical community conversations hosted by the Foundation for a Healthy St. Petersburg and prepare to celebrate St. Pete’s annual MLK Dream Big Celebration.
We Want Your Stories of Hometown Heroes!
From delivering much needed food and water to pulling you out of floodwaters, a late-night search and rescue for your dog or cat, providing your family with shelter and a hot shower, or myriad other acts of kindness, the residents of St. Petersburg are proving in so many ways the true spirit of a community united and a St. Pete Strong. We want to know your stories! We are preparing a feature for our November/December issue on the many people, small businesses and first responders who have shown extraordinary kindness and generosity throughout the storm recovery.
Tell us about people who helped you that exemplify the kindness of strangers – or neighbors, friends and businesses – so we can salute them in the next issue. Send your stories and photos to editor Marcia Biggs at editor@stpetelifemag.com by October 21. Stay strong St. Pete!
